Introduction to TreeSeek

Today I want to share with you a neat website called TreeSeek.com  It's purpose is to help you create different kinds of fan charts and pedigrees of your family. I have enjoyed this website because it gives you a more modern way to see your family tree and connect to your ancestors.  Here's how it works:

1.) Go to https://treeseek.com/ and login with your FamilySearch account. You will get a little pop-up asking you to allow Tree Seek to access basic information from your Family Search profile and your family tree as recorded on Family Search. Click "Accept".
2.) This will take you back to TreeSeek.com. It automatically sets you as the center of the chart- then your parents, grandparents, etc. You can change who you want as the center person by finding an ancestor's name and Family Search ID number.
3.) Choose your chart. You can select many different kinds of charts, from a 7-generation pedigree to a photo pedigree, which takes photos of your ancestors uploaded on Family Search, to one of my personal favorites, the name cloud.
4.) Wait. After selecting your chart type, it can take a few minutes for TreeSeek to gather information from FamilySearch.org. Once it collects the information, it will compile the chart of your choosing. Then you can admire, print, and show off your cool new chart.

Hopefully this has been helpful and interesting for you. Have a wonderful day, and feel free to leave a comment!

  1. Oh, wow! This is something I haven't heard of before. I definitely should check it out. Also, you could do a post on Relative Finder. That's a fun website to see who you're related to.

  2. I like Relative Finder too. Maybe I will write about it someday. By the way, have you heard of Puzzilla? It's great for Elder Anderson's challenge of finding our cousins. More details to come. :)
