Have you seen this? The annual Family Search RootsTech Conference is right around the corner, and you can participate from your own home. On February 6, 2016, you can watch the live streaming of Family Discovery Day beginning at 1:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time. (If you live near Salt Lake City, you might consider attending this free event.) Some of the speakers will be the newly called apostle, Elder Dale G Renlund and his wife, Sister Ruth Renlund; Sister Rosemary M. Wixom, general Primary president; Brother Stephen W. Owen, Young Men general president. I know they'll all be great because they always follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost as they prepare for these things. Be sure to join in and be pondering beforehand where you could use the most help. Is it research? Connecting with a family member? If you listen with the Spirit, you will find your answer- be open to whatever comes! Show your willingness to follow the promptings you receive (that's harder, but so worth it!). And don't forget to invite your family and friends to watch with you. Not only is genealogy fun, it's something everyone can do in some form or another, and so rewarding.
Videos of Family Discovery Day will be available for later viewing on LDS.org in Portuguese, Spanish, French, and English. For more information, click Here.
"What is the office and work of Elijah? This is the spirit of Elijah, that we redeem our dead, and connect ourselves with our fathers which are in heaven. ...This is the power of Elijah and the keys of the kingdom of Jehovah." ~Joseph Smith
“Very simply, the Spirit of Elijah is the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of Elijah will influence anyone who is involved in this work. That, for a young person in the wickedness in the world in which we live today, is one of the greatest safeguards against the temptations of the adversary. The Spirit of Elijah will not only bless you, it will protect you.”
